VXP104 25 cm (10") high-end flat subwoofer

With the VISION VXP Subs, ESX presents a new series of high-end woofers for which a lot of effort has already been put into the drawing board. Important components such as the aluminium basket, voice coil and cone have been completely redesigned in order to achieve the development goal without compromise - high-end subwoofers with a low installation depth. No sooner said than done, hardly anything is "ready to go", which is why, in addition to the cone, 12 other components have been specially re-equipped. The effort is particularly visible in the independent cast aluminium basket with integrated magnetic drive and in the new honeycomb cone.

Thanks to richly equipped voice coils with a diameter of 50 mm for the 8-inch model and an even larger diameter of 65 mm for the 10-inch model, the subwoofers are extremely robust with 300 or 400 watts RMS. The high values ​​are also due to the use of a special 32 mm long CCAW voice coil, which rests on an extremely light fiberglass support. Thanks to the low mass and the powerful double magnet, an additional efficiency of 2 dB could be achieved.

Flat woofers have the disadvantage that due to their design, conventional cone membranes do not fit because the installation depth is simply not sufficient. So only flat membranes remain. However, these are very susceptible to deformation if they only consist of one layer. ESX solves this problem with the extremely stable structure of the VXP multi-layer membranes, which are reinforced with glass fiber on both sides and also have a rigid honeycomb structure on the inside. Both woofers prefer small, closed enclosures.
