Musway is known for building particularly elegant and well thought-out DSP amplifiers that can be controlled via a smartphone app and also look good. The new M12, which has an impressive 12 Class D channels and an integrated 16-channel DSP, also follows in this tradition. It is particularly aimed at hi-fi fans who want to be able to individually adjust their complex speaker system in the vehicle for the best possible playback and at the same time be able to easily control it without having to install complex wiring or multiple devices.
For optimal sound tuning, a high-quality input section is required, which picks up the audio signals from the source. The M12 therefore has an impressive number of low-level and high-level input connections. There are not only 6 pairs of cinch inputs and an additional AUX input, but also 12 pairs of high-level inputs, which can pick up the loudspeaker signals. They can handle very high loads of 20 volts RMS and are used when a complex factory system has already been installed in the vehicle. Of course, the fed high-level signals are secured with EPS so that no errors occur in the diagnostic system. While the high-end processor powers the 12 channels internally, the DSP also provides 4 freely configurable RCA preamplifier outputs. These can be assigned for external purposes and open up numerous expansion possibilities. In this way, additional amplifiers can be included in the DSP performance, for example powerful mono amplifiers that are better suited to drive subwoofers, for example. The Musway ONE600 or ONE1000 monoblocks are particularly suitable for this. Woofers under the seats or in the footwell, which are often installed in pairs at BMW or Mercedes, can be optimally switched on.
At the heart of the M12 is the ADAU1452 processor from Analog Devices® , highly regarded by audiophile connoisseurs. It is perfectly configurable with the easy-to-use PC software and in real time via USB. With the optional BTA2 dongle, the DSP can also be controlled with the new "Tunest" app via iOS or Android smartphones (see App Store).
