Car hi-fi fans know it: You have to have a good subwoofer in your car, otherwise the whole system is no fun. However, due to their basket or membrane construction, good subwoofers usually have quite large installation depths and often cannot be installed in the desired installation locations. This problem can now be solved with the HiFonics ZEUS STREET ZST subwoofers in a flat design. Thanks to their low installation depth of just under 8 or 9 cm, the problem solvers can be installed where conventional subwoofers are simply too deep.

Conventionally constructed subwoofers have a deep cone shape, which keeps the membrane in good condition, but unfortunately has a significant negative influence on the installation depth. If you want to reduce the installation depth, such membranes are out of the question, you have to use flatter versions. However, if they were constructed from conventional materials such as paper or plastic, flat subwoofers would not sound good. That is why the membranes of the ZEUS STREET ZST series are made from an extremely hard glass fiber/carbon composite material. This is the only way to ensure that the air is compressed cleanly during excursions in the high bass and that no distortion occurs. Drives with large 50 mm magnets and voice coils, which allow an X-Max of up to 15 mm (+/-), are also not common in this class.

The 20 cm ZST8 subwoofer can optimally exploit its potential in a closed housing volume of 10 to 15 liters; the ZST10 should be used between 15 and 25 liters. Both subwoofers also play very well in bass reflex setting, which requires a little more volume, but then play even more powerfully
