The advantages of the new lithium titanate battery technology are that the anode surface area of the lithium titanate battery is approximately 100 square meters per gram, compared to only 3 square meters per gram for conventional lithium-ion batteries (3.7 V). This larger surface area for electrons to pass through allows for fast charging and a longer battery life. This means that less charging power is required and these batteries can be safely recharged in approximately 6 to 10 minutes, compared to the 8 hours required for other rechargeable batteries.
