Description

Extraordinary performance in a compact volume: this is the challenge of Mille PRO car audio subwoofers. Building on the solid experience gained with Mille Legend, the R&D team has optimized the production process to offer the "Hertz Sound Experience" to a wider audience, by re-employing the technologies and materials of this flagship line.

CONE AND SURROUND

The MP 250 D2.3 cone is made of mineral powder-filled cellulose, using the same construction technique as for Legend. The V-cone® profile increases rigidity, allowing the cone to operate like a piston. The surround is made of very pure IIR butyl.

BOUNDARY FREE SURROUND

As with the Legend ML 2000.3 and ML 2500.3, Mille PRO subwoofers use Boundary Free Surround technology, which allows for a larger radiating surface at the same diameter, for higher sound pressure.

COMPACT BASKET

The compact six-spoke anti-resonant aluminum basket is the same as for the ML 2500.3; it contributes to the mechanical damping of the subwoofer by being acoustically transparent.

HIGH-PERFORMANCE VOICE COIL

The 4-layer voice coil wound on a 65 mm diameter TIL-P former is over 60 mm high to allow for greater excursions. The 2Ω + 2Ω impedance improves versatility by allowing the use of all types of amplifiers.

OPTIMIZED VENTILATION SYSTEM

The ventilation and pressure relief system avoids the need for a hole in the bottom plate with the following advantages:

• Better thermal inertia for lower operating temperatures during musical transients
• Better induction of the magnetic field in the coil with the same motor size. Thanks to the high iron content in the pole pieces, the probability of magnetic saturation decreases by maximizing the flux density generated by the magnet
• Possibility of installing the subwoofer on the rear wall, taking advantage of its compact dimensions. A damping disk is supplied with the product, allowing it to be attached to the enclosure through the 10 pre-drilled threads

OPTIMIZED COOLING

The holes around the voice coil and the 10 perforations in the back plate allow for better air exchange with the inside of the windings by forcing air to pass through the air gap to maintain a low operating temperature even during the most extreme musical passages.

PROFESSIONAL CONNECTORS

Connection is made via sturdy push-on connectors with short-circuit protection, accepting 8 AWG cables for the lowest possible resistance in low impedance (1Ω) configurations.
