The Prima AP 2 MV medium-large band reproduces the entire range of mid-to-high frequencies and is perfect for GM, Ford, and Toyota cars with 50 mm (2-inch) OEM locations in the dashboard or A-pillar, where it is combined with an elliptical woofer in the car door. The included adapter allows for direct OEM replacement for many General Motors*, Toyota*, and Mercedes* vehicles. Its compact dimensions and excellent electroacoustic parameters also make it an ideal speaker for three-way systems, surround sound or center channels, housed in OEM locations where the available space does not allow for the use of a larger diameter speaker. The advantage of emitting the entire frequency spectrum by itself, responsible for creating the virtual stage with absolute phase coherence, ensures a wide acoustic stage focused on the upper part of the dashboard. The very low distortion and the absence of a crossover point in the mid-high range also offer a natural and pleasant listening experience. Thanks to careful research and simulations, the R&D team was able to maximize electroacoustic performance for a typical OEM application. The resonance frequency of 145 Hz, a very low value for a 50 mm speaker, was achieved through the use of a 25 mm voice coil, ensuring controlled low-frequency extension for an optimal crossover point with the woofer. The aluminum cone, combined with the copper shorting ring that flattens impedance, extends the response up to 20 kHz. The special magnetic assembly composed of a dual-symmetry neodymium magnet also contributes to this exceptional high-frequency extension while maintaining very compact dimensions. This electroacoustic configuration has resulted in a particularly wide frequency response, extending from 150 Hz to 20 kHz, giving the AP 2 the well-deserved name of extended range.
