OPTIM8 8-Channel DSP Amplifier with Auto-tuning Sound

With the introduction of the Alpine OPTIM8, we’ve taken the pain and confusion out of optimizing your system’s sound with a digital sound processor or DSP/amplifier by creating an amplifier that tunes itself. The PXE-C80-88 8-Channel DSP Amplifier offers automatic sound calibration and High-Definition performance, giving you exceptional fidelity, clarity, balance, and impact in your music, without having to spend hours adjusting controls and testing equipment.

Matrix mixing allows for summing and managing input/output signals. Fully adjustable high-pass, low-pass, and band-pass filters, along with 31-band equalizers on every channel, adjust the sound to your speakers and smooth out peaks or dips in response due to your vehicle’s interior. Time correction works to center the stereo image to your listening position. After the initial setup with your PC device, all adjustments can be made automatically using the PXE-C80-88’s control app on your iPhone with its built-in microphone, or with your PC using a separate measurement microphone, like the Alpine KTX-CSP1. PC users can perform all adjustments manually to create a more personalized soundstage.

While the PXE-C80-88 can operate as a stand-alone processor with your aftermarket amplifiers, its built-in 8-channel amplifier has enough power to run your system. It delivers six channels at 35 Watts RMS each for 4-Ohm speakers or 70 Watts RMS each for 2-Ohm speakers — it works with both OEM and aftermarket speakers — along with two channels that can produce 130 Watts RMS at 4 Ohms or 260 Watts RMS at 2 Ohms, to power more powerful mid-range speakers and subwoofers.

Alpine OPTIM8: A New Approach to Audio Tuning

The revolutionary Alpine OPTIM8 is the ultimate all-in-one solution, designed to optimize and amplify any sound system with remarkable precision. The powerful DSP amplifier integrates Eilex PRISM™ technology, which offers a new approach to perfecting car audio. It measures frequency response using the Acoustic Power Volume Density (APVD) method, simultaneously correcting time alignment and phase errors in speaker systems. This technology aims to ensure that the output sound is as close as possible to the original source, providing exceptional musicality and intelligibility. All of this is done automatically and takes no more than 5 minutes for the user.

Flexible Application

The OPTIM8 gives you the flexibility to use your original car radio and sound system or connect an aftermarket car radio and sound system. The built-in amplifier provides 35W x 6 @ 4Ω + 130W x 2 @4Ω or 70W x 6 @2Ω + 260W x 2 @ 2Ω, capable of powering a full sound system. Digital inputs include Coax and USB (DAC), while a high-level speaker input up to 26V allows the OPTIM8 to connect to an original amplifier.

Automatic Sound Tuning

Reprogram your entire audio system in less than five minutes with the Alpine OPTIM8's innovative automatic tuning capabilities. The Alpine OPTIM8 removes all complexities of tuning an audio system by providing a simple, guided process via the OPTIM app for iPhone (iPhone/iPad) or the PC software with the external microphone kit KTX-CSP1 (sold separately) to quickly and accurately measure your vehicle's interior. Alpine's Auto-EQ, powered by Eilex PRISM™ and VIR filters, simplifies the sound tuning process. It provides on-screen instructions, allowing the user to easily perform accurate measurement of the vehicle system. After measurement, the graphical interface of the PC software or the OPTIM app for iPhone provides real-time results for users to quickly and intuitively perfect their system's audio. During the measurement process, the user moves the optional KTX-CSP1 tuning microphone (or iPhone) around the vehicle cabin, capturing hundreds of measurement points. The Auto-EQ process is smart enough to ignore outlying information. The result is a consistent and highly objective analysis of the vehicle system every time.

Eilex PRISM™ Technology

Integrated Eilex PRISM™ technology measures frequency response using the unique Acoustic Power Volume Density (APVD) measurement method. The ultra-high-performance VIR (Variable Impulse Response) DSP filters simultaneously correct frequency, time, and phase alignment errors in speaker systems. This technology aims to ensure that the output sound is as close as possible to the original source, providing remarkable audio clarity. Key benefits of Eilex PRISM™ technology include reliable measurement results – independent of operator or environment – while newly developed VIR filters outperform conventional DSP filters in all aspects.

Personalized Listening Experience

Tune your system in real-time using tuning tools, such as crossover filter adjustments and time correction, to create a customized experience tailored to your ideal listening position or preferred music genre. Use one of the six included presets to save your favorite settings and quickly access them with the included OPTIM8 remote control.

Universal Wiring Harness and Adapter

The optional KWE-PXE8-UNI is a universal wiring harness with Quadlock connectors, allowing the Alpine OPTIM8 to be installed in Volkswagen Group, BMW, and Mercedes-Benz vehicles equipped with Quadlock radio connectors. A standard Quadlock ISO to ISO adapter (KWE-FR1AU) is also available as an option to facilitate installations.
