For the new QXE woofer series, the ESX engineers have developed completely new cast aluminum baskets. For these baskets, particular emphasis was placed on two features: the widest possible centering to ensure optimum cone travel and very good rear ventilation of the spider and voice coil. This reduces the compression of the cone deflection and improves the cooling of the voice coil. For further improvement of cooling and to increase the load capacity, the T-plate has also been equipped with ventilation holes. The 76 mm (3″) voice coil on a black anodized aluminum mount is driven by two powerful 100 oz (Y30) magnets, which ensures an extremely high efficiency of up to 89 dB. The 40 mm long wound voice coil gives the cone a linear excursion of +/- 14 mm and a mechanical excursion of up to +/- 22 mm. Thus,
